OUR STORY
WELCOME
You can give me body spray. But, I don’t love a perfume. Purchased a diy candle starter kit, played with a couple of scents, hand poured some small batches with love, let a few family and friends sample, received great feedback, and the rest was history. If you ask me something about my childhood I probably wouldn’t remember. But, if you ask me about my daughter Nia Rae I could begin by telling you everything! So, if your wondering how the name Heaven Made Scents came about its all in memory of her. Some know our story and for those of you who don’t I will tell you the significance of our logo. While on maternity leave every morning around 7:30 am I would take Nia’s siblings to school. Tragically, this was the same time my father and I rushed her to the hospital while her sisters were in the back seat. The white dove came to my parents home for several weeks after her passing around this same exact time. We took videos, we took pictures, we put bread out, we even saw the dove bring a friend and this was sign to my family and I that “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8 We endured a loss that one could not imagine. But, we are also grateful she was sent here for a purpose, it was fulfilled, and God took her home with wings. Nia was due on my father’s birthday June 20, 2019 she arrived on May 3, 2019 the day after her sister Aniah’s birthday May 2nd and departed us on her due date June 20, 2019 she will always be missed!
OUR BRAND
Heaven Made Scents was established in October 2020 in the midst of a nation wide pandemic that took a toll on people mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially. But, also it brought families together, some unfortunately apart, and relief to those like myself to explore the possibilities.
This brand is about shedding light and love, beauty and confidence, peace and tranquility, aroma and sensuality, strength and support, inspiration and comfort, happiness and healing all in the wake of absence. So, then what makes our brand different from other candle brands it’s simple I want us all to win. We are different and that’s enough to make us individually unique. Most importantly in the comfort of your home, work place, wherever it may be you will find relaxation and enjoy the fragrant of fresh air surrounding an entire room in every scent you purchase.
Infant mortality is the death of an infant before his or her first birthday. The five leading causes are birth defects, preterm birth, injuries, sudden infant death syndrome, and maternal pregnancy complications (cdc.gov). While I have done my research it is evident that “Black” women have the highest rate of infant and maternal mortality. If you have not suffered in this way consider yourself blessed! However, if you have you are still blessed and I send my love, deepest condolences, and prayers to the women who are trying to conceive, conceived and miscarried, gave birth and loss, and carried to full-term and still-born. It’s insensitive to say the least some people have not experienced this and others have felt a level of postpartum depression, sadness, happiness, and so many other emotions. I say to you it’s such hard pill to swallow but God is still able to see you through! Often times we feel like a person who has not been through it can’t relate which in most cases they can’t. But, that’s okay your not alone I’m a living testimony that some days get rough, you smile, and keep on going! You raise the children you have and Thank God for them. JUST PRAY because for those who are trying, having difficulty, want more TO GOD BE THE GLORY YOUR TIME WILL COME!
